Limited-edition Turing-Welchman pens are being offered by The National Museum of Computing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the arrival of the first Turing-Welchman Bombe.

As part of the 80th anniversary celebrations two videos from Dr Marek Grajek and Sir Dermot Turing have also been released.

Researcher who revealed secrets of Colossus awarded honorary fellowship by TNMOC

Professor Brian Randell, distinguished computer scientist and computer historian, has been awarded the 2020 Honorary Fellowship by The National Museum of Computing (TNMOC).

Professor Randell’s research led to the innovation, power and importance of Colossus becoming public knowledge in the 1970s.

The heyday of British home computing in the 1980s is the focus of a pop-up display at The National Museum of Computing on the Bletchley Park Estate until 30th June 2020.

From Sinclair ZX80s through ZX Spectrums to the BBC micro, visitors of a certain age can relive their entry into computing with hands-on access to many of the original machines.
